English: Chris Wallace-Crabbe Poetry Masterclass
Recently, Melbourne poet and critic Chris Wallace-Crabbe visited our school to run a masterclass with the Year 12 Literature cohort. Wallace-Crabbe’s poetry includes a collection of poems based on topics such as cultural integration, landscapes, and identity. Progressing through three separate sessions, our students learnt about Wallace-Crabbe’s early life growing up in Melbourne, as well as his travels and time overseas in New York and Florence. This unit of poetry is the final area of study that the senior Literature students undertake prior to the examination and caps a year of text analysis that has included Russian short stories, Norwegian theatre, English novellas and Post-Romantic dramatic monologues.
